Animal Rescue Bar Debuts First Plant-Based Nutrition Bar

Grassroots Food Company To Donate Fifty Percent of All Proceeds to Animal Rescue Causes

BOCA RATON, FL – April 27, 2014 – Animal Rescue Bar, a company that makes plant-based nutrition bars for humans and encourages people to be kind to animals, announces it began sales on April 24 with the Peanut Crunch Animal Rescue Bar. The company will donate 50% of all proceeds to animal rescue organizations that save dogs, rabbits, cats, horses, monkeys, pigs, cows, chickens, pelicans, turtles, hawks, and many other animals.

Andrew Kirschner, Ed.D., Founder and CEO, said, “The goal of Animal Rescue Bar is to inspire people to show compassion for animals, to provide financial support to the organizations that rescue them, and to offer a healthy snack for people. We want to raise awareness about the institutional and individual cruelty perpetrated against animals around the globe to encourage more people to take action in their community to oppose cruelty and make humane decisions in their daily lives. Animal Rescue Bar is uniquely positioned in the $1.8 billion per year nutrition bar market as it is the only bar donating half of its proceeds to benefit non-profit organizations. We believe people will gravitate to the bar because it tastes so good and serves such a meaningful purpose.”

Peanut Crunch Animal Rescue Bars are non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, and contain organic ingredients. The perfect snack for work or the gym, these healthy bars do not contain any oils, refined sugar, syrups, or acids typically found in other bars and yet the customer reviews have been spectacular.

About Animal Rescue Bar, Wayne Pacelle, President & CEO, The Humane Society of the United States, said “Animal Rescue Bars are a delicious way to help fuel your body while also fueling great work to protect animals.”

“Animal Rescue Bars are fantastic and they serve such a worthwhile cause,” said Ingrid Newkirk, President and Co-Founder, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. “They’re a big hit in the PETA office and they are my favorite on-the-road snack!”

Animal Rescue Bars are available online and will be sold in grocery stores, gyms, drug stores, and many other locations nationwide. Customers can also submit a food product request form to request Animal Rescue Bars be sold at a location near them.
